With a record of success in media relations and development, Mira brings to Larson Communications a diverse background in nonprofit and government communications. Mira currently works with charter schools and education reform organization to build their visibility and brand, as well as position them to achieve maximum media exposure.

Previously, Mira worked in the administration of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg as the Deputy Director of Public Affairs for the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA). In this role, Mira helped to position the Department as the leading voice on aging issues and as the primary advocate for the city's diverse 1.3 million older New Yorkers. Additionally, as one of two primary spokespersons for the Department, Mira interacted daily with the New York Times, Daily News, New York Post, Associated Press, and Wall Street Journal, as well as radio and broadcast news outlets, to ensure that Mayor Bloomberg's vision for aging services was conveyed across all media platforms.

Prior to her run with DFTA, Mira worked with a broadcast media relations firm, Home Front Communications. At Home Front, she managed national media outreach campaigns and researched, crafted, and pitched stories to television and radio newsrooms nationwide.

She began her communications career working on behalf of the Arab-American community as the Public Affairs Coordinator of the Arab American Institute in Washington, DC, where she also had the opportunity to produce a Washington-based live policy talk show, Abu Dhabi TV's "Viewpoint with James Zogby."

Mira received her bachelor's degree from the George Washington University in Journalism with a concentration in Middle East Affairs.
